The Story of Horseradish
2009
Chester Race Company launch Horseradish to deliver quality catering on-course for over 300,000 racegoers each season at Chester and Bangor-on-Dee.
2010
We won our first outdoor event contract for the Cholmondeley Pageant of Power, shortly followed by another contract to deliver 30,000 Christmas parties at Tatton Park and Knowsley Hall.
2011
Our first celebrity chef collaboration was launched at the Audi Polo event, with Prince William among the guests.
We delivered full event management of the inaugural ‘Chester Rocks’ three-day music festival.
We were awarded the prestigious National Racecourse Catering Award for overall excellence.
2012
We were appointed caterer for Llangollen International Music Elsteddfod.
Her Majesty The Queen attended the Welsh homecoming parade at Chester Racecourse, delivered by Horseradish for 2,500 guests.

We delivered event management for Chester’s first Winter Wonderland event with over 100,000 visitors.
Following increasing demand, we launched our own in-house patisserie division.
2014
We delivered public catering & hospitality at the biggest international cheese show in the world, the Nantwich Show.
We also took on property management of National Trust venue, Speke Hall.
2015
We became a preferred caterer at the Liverpool Anglican Cathedral and catered for our first event at the venue with over 700 guests.
We were awarded the catering contract for Wales GB Rally.
We celebrated our 1,000th wedding!
2016
We were awarded the catering contract for the RHS Flower Show at Tatton Park.
We increased our team by 40%.
We helped facilitate Chester Race Company’s award winning charity initiative, Project 1000.
2017
We were awarded the catering contract for the RHS Chatsworth Flower Show, featuring the iconic Wedgwood Tea Room.
We launched our ‘Styled By Horseradish’ service.
Our in-house agency, Thyme People, was launched, sourcing staff for events including Royal Ascot, Henley Regatta, RHS Chelsea and The Open, amongst others.
2018
We provided full event management for Her Majesty The Queen and Her Royal Highness The Duchess of Sussex’s lunch at Chester Town Hall.
We delivered full event management for Chester’s Sir Tom Jones concert with over 20,000 attendees.
Horseradish Culinary Academy was launched, working with local colleges to facilitate work experiences within the industry.
2019
We partnered with our 45th affiliate venue.
Parade at Chester Racecourse was launched, a dining concept delivering a premium hospitality experience throughout the racing season.
We proudly celebrated 65% growth in sales across the decade of our inception.
